Best answer: the only thing you need to consider when using 'homemade' lumber is that all of the 'boards of a feather' are close to identical in dimension. if you're using 2x4's make sure they are the same size. i.e. if the actual measure is 2inches by 4inches, make sure none are 2 1/4"x 3 7/8".. Re: building shed with rough cut if you are making the building 10'x20' you will want an overhang front and back. even though the hemlock is classified as a soft wood, you will play heck to drive a nail into seasoned hemlock..
